Periodontology ( Gum Disease)

Diseases which affect gingiva and surroundings soft and hard tissues named as periodontal diseases. Early phase of gingival disease is called “gingivitis”. This is the clinical situation which affect only gums. Symptoms of the gingivitis are redness, bleeding and swelling. Pain is not a common symptom of gingivitis. The main reason of gingivitis is poor oral hygen and rapid improvements in health observed with Professional scaling and root planning and home dental care. İf it is not treated the disease turned into periodontitis.  Periodontitis is a set of inflammatory diseases affecting the periodontium, i.e., the tissues that surround and support the teeth.
Symptoms of gum diseases:
Halitosis
Mobility of the teeth
Recessed gingiva
Sensitivity with cold liquids
Bleeding when tooth brushing
New spaces between the teeth
Recurrence of oral scars
Swelling and redness of gingiva
